SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate

For safe and compliant market entry in Saudi Arabia

Overview

Overview

SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate is required for regulated electrical and electronic products entering Saudi Arabia. It verifies compliance with international safety and quality standards. Without this certification, shipments of covered products cannot clear Saudi Customs.

What is SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate?

The SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate is a mandatory requirement for certain regulated electrical and electronic products imported into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This certification ensures that products meet international safety and performance standards before clearance by Saudi Customs.
Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) has confirmed that all products covered under the SASO IECEE system are subject to customs verification to ensure compliance. Without this certification, shipments of regulated products will not be allowed into the Saudi market.
Watheeq as a Saudi national Conformity Assessment Body, specializes in guiding clients through the IECEE certification process, ensuring smooth customs clearance and market compliance.

What is SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate?

Purpose of the SASO IECEE Requirement

SASO has made the IECEE Recognition Certificate mandatory for a range of high-risk electrical products to:

• Facilitate smoother customs clearance without repeated testing

In March 2021, SASO made it mandatory for suppliers to obtain the SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate for certain electrotechnical devices and components to ensure their entry into Saudi markets. The requirement covers high-risk products such as water boilers, coffee machines, oil fryers, electric pumps (≤5 HP), power cables, gaming devices, controllers, chargers, and wireless headphones.
